The late-’90s // early-‘00s were an iconic time in popular culture. Before streaming services, mobile phones, the 2008 financial crisis and the Dearth of Socialisation, you’d be listening to the radio, queueing up to get the latest CDs from your local bossman, and singing, rapping and dancing in clubs with strangers. American R&B music was killing at this time, and it’s mainstream success worldwide could be largely attributed to the prolific output of two childhood friends and musical polymaths - Pharrell Williams and Timbaland.
