About The Event
In the early 90's a chance meeting with fellow beatmaker and record fanatic "Lucky Juliano" resulted in the formation of acclaimed hip-hop production duo The Creators. During their time together they remixed hip-hop heavyweights like Nas and A Tribe Called Quest, as well as producing for countless underground artists such as Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and Dilated Peoples, among others. Their run of underground releases led to a deal with Wall of Sound Records and the release of their LP The Weight in 2000.
In recent years, Si has reimagined himself as the “Ned Flounders of Hip-Hop” under his alter ego Barry Beats, amassing over 1.5 million YouTube views. In Barry's videos he willfully shares beatmaking knowledge, takes on crazy production challenges, and delivers creatively innovative DJ mixes, all whilst clad in the finest Gabicci knits and fiercest Farah trousers.
